The Barents Winter Games 2025 will take place from the 28th to 30th of March 2025 in Alta.

About Barents Games

  • Celebration of Barents Sport in Alta

    The purpose of Barents sport is to develop international cooperation in the region and involve as many youth as possible across the borders. The games are an arena for both sporting and cultural exchange and makes people-to-people cooperation between the three countries in the Barents region.

  • Multi-sport event between Finland, Norway and Sweden

    17 different sports are invited to take part in this year’s Barents Games in Alta, with athletes from Norway, Finland and Sweden. The Games are a great opportunity for youth to experience the atmosphere of an international sporting event.
    In the Games young athletes can compete both nationally and internationally with other athletes.

  • A large team stands behind the Barents Games

    Finnmark Idrettskrets leads the preparations in cooperation with local sports clubs, the municipality, the county council and the business community in Alta.

Artistic Gymnastics

Due to challenges with gymnastics facilities in Alta, Gymnastics Artistics will be held in Narvik, Norway March 21st to 23rd 2025.

Narvik Turnforening are happy to invite to the annual Artistic Gymnastics Barents Competition 2025.
We are proud to continue this great tradition that started back in 1956, when the first Kalottkampen was held in Kiruna.

Join us for the opening ceremony of the Barents Winter Games 2025!

It will be an ceremony with dance, music, speeches, and entertainment.

A perfect start to a weekend filled with exciting competitions, activities and new friendships!

Arranged at Scandic hotel Alta
Saturday, March 29th
From 20:00-22:00.

The program includes:

Table tennis, carpet curling, board games, craft activities, gaming, competitions with prizes and free hanging out.

Free concert with the local band, En Ting Til Felles (One Thing In Common)

The band will play two mini-concerts.
The first one from 20:15 to 20:45
and the second concert from 21:15 to 21:45.
